Questions & Answers
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about building a pickleball court in Utah.
Cost & Pricing
How much does a pickleball court cost?
A residential pickleball court in Utah typically costs between $18,000 and $65,000+, depending on site conditions, surface type, and features like fencing, lighting, and landscaping. See our detailed cost guide for a full breakdown.
Do you offer financing?
We're working on financing partnerships. In the meantime, many clients use home equity lines of credit (HELOCs) or home improvement loans. A pickleball court is a legitimate home improvement that can increase property value.
What's included in your quote?
Everything. Our quotes are comprehensive — site prep, materials, labor, equipment, permits (if needed), and cleanup. No surprise charges. The price we quote is the price you pay.
Construction
How long does it take to build a court?
Most residential courts take 2–4 weeks from ground-break to game-ready. The concrete base needs 7–10 days to cure before we can apply the acrylic surface. Weather can affect the timeline — we don't rush curing or coat application.
What surface do you use?
We use professional-grade acrylic sport surface coatings — the same type used on tournament and club courts. These provide excellent ball bounce, consistent traction, and UV resistance. Colors stay vibrant for years.
Do I need a permit?
It depends on your city and HOA. Many Utah municipalities require a building permit for a concrete slab over a certain size. We handle the permit process for you — it's included in our service.
What about drainage?
Proper drainage is critical and it's one of the things we obsess over. Every court is graded with a slight slope (1%) to shed water efficiently. We also address any existing drainage issues on your property before we build.
Can you build on a slope?
Yes, but it costs more. Sloped sites require more excavation, possible retaining walls, and more base material. We assess slope during the free site visit and factor it into your quote.
Design & Features
What colors can I choose?
Any combination you want. We specialize in forest green and dark green courts (our signature look), but we offer the full spectrum of acrylic sport surface colors. We'll help you choose a combination that complements your home and landscape.
Can you do multi-sport lines?
Absolutely. We can lay out pickleball, tennis, and basketball lines on the same court. We use contrasting colors so each sport's lines are easy to follow during play.
Do you install lighting?
Yes. We install professional LED court lighting designed specifically for sport courts. Our lighting plans minimize light spill to neighbors while providing even, shadow-free illumination across the playing surface.
What about landscaping around the court?
This is one of our specialties. We coordinate with your landscape designer (or provide our own recommendations) to frame your court beautifully — hydrangea borders, hedge screening, stone surrounds, viewing areas. A gorgeous court deserves a gorgeous setting.
Maintenance
How much maintenance does a court require?
Very little. Sweep or blow off debris periodically, power wash once or twice a year, and keep vegetation trimmed back from the edges. That's about it. Our acrylic surfaces are designed for minimal maintenance.
How long does the surface last?
A quality acrylic surface lasts 8–12 years before needing a re-coat, depending on usage and UV exposure. The concrete base underneath lasts decades. When it's time, we offer resurfacing services to restore it to like-new condition.
What about Utah winters?
Our courts are engineered for Utah's freeze-thaw cycles. We use proper base preparation, expansion joints, and (when appropriate) post-tension concrete to minimize cracking. Courts are playable year-round on dry days — many of our clients play through winter.
